Hi pals! So hot on the heels of an absolutely wonderful Friday/Saturday combo of in-person events this weekend, I thought I'd bring you another excerpt from my latest solo show at The Scratch (Chris Things 2025: "Los Luchadores vs Alien Invaders"). Here we see one of our Luchador heroes, Mil Mascaras with his trusty steed caught up in a moment of surprise by a not-so-friendly alien invader.
Artists' Note: I believe this was another one in the middle-portion of the 'creating-madness' period of this show. Looking back, I quite like how loose & organic it feels. I always love making art of the absolutely iconic Luchador that is Mil Mascaras. I'm also quite happy with the colour scheme here. In hindsight I think I incorporated horses a bit more in this show & that was something that I really enjoyed. I LOVED the vintage frame that I went with for this one. I recall being a little sad to part with it but also that this painting deserved it haha.
