MOTW 102: Kobashi & KENTA vs Kensuke & Nakajima

We're up to the 102nd addition to our illustration series & this week I bring you a match that is close to my heart & officially the 'main event' of this past Sunday's Wrestling Club event at The Scratch!

This absolutely wonderful 'Father & Son' romp took place on June 14th, 2008 at Pro Wrestling NOAH's 'Great Voyage 2008 In Yokohama' event at the historic Yokohama Bunka Gymnasium.

So this is just everything that I love about Professional Wrestling (& the good ship NOAH specifically) wrapped up in a very hard-hitting, sweaty bow. The whole father & son/Kohei-Senpai dynamic totally makes this. We have the fiery, punk youngens & the surly, grumpy dads who do not have time for their nonsense.

Of course the beyond legendary dads get into it with one-another; reigniting perhaps the greatest chop exchange in ProWrestling history. The stuff between young punk KENTA & Daddy-Kensuke is just amazing beyond words. I'm also still in awe of how great Nakajima was here for his age. Truly one of the all timer youth-phenoms. And boy does he bring that teen-angst?!

This also just blows by for a 30 minute draw. Some haters could say that it gets somewhat repetitive. But for me, the fact that you know what you are getting & then you keep on getting it to exhaustion is just the best thing ever. I will always have so much love for the 'Burning' partnership of stoic mentor Kobashi & no-respect angry punk KENTA.

HIGHLY recommended!! Everyone needs to watch more NOAH!
