Another of my favourite illustrations from the original Way of the Blade book & a match (& feud) that is way under-appreciated!

I'm sticking with early 90's WCW again for this weeks' highlight (a great, under-appreciated period for Pro Wrestling in my opinion). This is another one that I'll point to whenever anyone attempts to make it out to be some sort of 'dark days' for the company. The dark days would certainly be coming soon unfortunately as Hogan & his crew would come in but as Phil notes in the book, this one really captured the proper southern wrestling spirit of World Championship Wrestling before it all went to heck.

As a big fan of 'The Natural, I stand by this early 90s period as the greatest of his career, just going from strength to strength - a run that included GREAT matches with Big Van Vader, Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Arn Anderson & even Terry Funk. Such an amazing run that for me far out-shines his following Goldust days. Always putting out great matches & always with such a wonderful fire & charisma. This match is a perfect example of that. If you're unfamiliar with Bunkhouse Buck/Jimmy Golden, he was a really great throwback southern bad guy who always brought it (if you like Terry Funk, you should like Buck). Today's world of Professional Wrestling desperately needs more Bunkhouse Bucks!

In summary, this match rules! A totally badass southern brawl that makes me want to check out the Gulf Coast Continental Territory. Everyone should make time for Dustin's entire feud against Robery Fuller's Stud Stable! Thank you Phil!!
