Another of my favourite illustrations from the original Way of the Blade book & another match that I love oh so much! Easily one of the greatest Lucha Libre Mask vs Mask 'Apuestas' matches that I've ever seen (probably THE best actually) & also one of the greatest Professional Wrestling matches ever!!

This match & storied feud between 'El ídolo de los niños' & Los Villanos really has it all; from totally-excellent actual wrestling, to some of the greatest, heated, bloody hate-filled brawling that you will ever see. Phil put it really well in the book that this is a sort of swan-song to the classic, bloody-brawl Lucha Libre 'Mask vs Mask' matches of yesteryear. As big-time Lucha Libre would unfortunately proceed to generally get away from this amazing variety of bloody violence in these matches in the following decades. For me, this match is just absolutely perfect & exactly what I'd show someone if I wanted to convey just what it is that I really love about the world of Mexican Wrestling.
