MOTW 23: Danielson vs Kingston

Hi friends! We’re up to week 23 of our ‘Match of the Week’ series & with the amazing PPV that was AEW Revolution happening this past week, this one proved to be quite the tough choice!

This tremendous Professional Wrestling bout took place on March 3rd, 2024 at All Elite Wrestling’s Revolution PPV from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

So you may ask me “What made this better than the other totally amazing matches like FTR vs BCC, Ospreay vs Takeshita or Sting’s big retirement match?” I think a big part of it was the total investment that I had in this one & the really great, storied feud between Dragon & King that lead to this point.

I really adored their previous matches & just like a perfect sequel, this continued & escalated that story perfectly. I loved that despite the hatred between the two during the rivalry, when it came down to it, this was all about ‘Wrestling’ & a battle is respect over who was the better ‘Wrestler’ on this night. There were so many little things that were done so well in this that the more you focus on it, the better it gets. The targeting of Kingston’s hand/arm & how that impacted the finishing stretch was just masterful. More than anything it was the struggle & emotion that really put this over the top.

If this is indeed the last Kingston vs Danielson match we get & the finale of the feud, then I felt this was just perfect. For me, anyone who watches this & thinks that Eddie is anything but a GREAT Pro Wrestler, just doesn’t understand what this whole thing is about.
