t's that day again & as always, I have another in our 'Match of the Week' illustration series for you. This week, we travel back to December 5th, 2021 at the famed Zona 23 Junkyard in Tultitlan, Estado de Mexico for an extra special ode to another of my recently departed favourites; the one & only Black Terry.

So this week was bitter sweet as I read the very sad news that Black Terry is no longer with us. My heart goes out to everyone who's lives this great man touched & of course to Black Terry Jr. The outpouring of love from all over the Lucha Libre world was very touching to see all-round.

I knew I had to do some sort of tribute but actually choosing the match in question from such an epic & varied career was tough. I ended up choosing this unforgettable Zona Junkyard old man brawl because it felt like the perfect swan-song to a wonderful legacy. Terry was an amazing Llaveo technician, as well as one of the greatest trios rudos you ever did see as part of 'Los Temerarios', but his true-grit, ageing-gunslinger, tough-as-nails brawler side was I think my most favourite.

This match is just something else. It's rough around the edges, dirty, physical as all heck & just an amazing violent spectacle to see between two incredible luchadores in their 60s. This match represents everything I love about the fringes of Professional Wrestling. It is so wonderfully the opposite of what most would consider a "good match". The more I watch it, the more I love it. It's just so unapologetically authentic!

Rest in peace Terry, you made the wrestling world a better place & you leave behind a terrific, highly influential legacy.
