Hi friends! So at the time of this dude, I was officially in Mexico City but did not let that stop our 78th edition of our 'Match of the Week' illustration series.
This tremendous, hate-filled grudge match between two of this generations' greatest Pro Wrestling rivals took place back on April 11th, 2024 at Pro-Wrestling NOAH's 'Star Navigation 2024' event at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo.
So this pick shows just how disastrously up-to-date I am with my favourite Professional Wrestling company, but also a testament to just how fantastic this long-time rivalry is.
NOAH in general for me always has some of the best wrasslin' that no one in the western world is talking about. And i'd say these are easily two of the best in the world today & fantastic examples of how good contemporary NOAH still is. Incredible chemistry. An amazing classic, pure but fiery good guy vs loudmouth bad guy dynamic. Hot Korakuen crowd & super heated from the get go.
This was at the time meant to be the final match of their storied rivalry, though I wouldn't be sad in the slightest if that doesn't end up being the case. Even if you haven't seen their prior matches, this still rocks way hard.
I was lucky enough to catch their first singles match for the GHC Heavyweight Championship in the main event of NOAH's big-stage return to Ryogoku in-person a few years back - so I definitely feel a sense of investment whenever we get to see them tangle it up.
HIGHLY recommended & easily the best thing I watched this past week.
