Today brings us to the 135th edition of our Chris Things Art 'Match of the Week' illustration series! And this week we travel back to the TWE Arena for a gloriously violent scrap.

This incredible brawl of a match took place on February 28th, the main event of Action Wrestling's Death Valley Days: Road Report event (that also happened to feature our other MOTW from a few weeks back!) at the TWE Arena in Redbank, Tennessee.

This match guys!! ...so it took me a while but I finally got around to finishing the excellent Death Valley Days show & my gosh, this main event really is everything that everyone said it was! It is kind of beautiful in its simplicity. Two insane fellas who really want to beat one another up! It doesn't go that long but man, the furious intensity of it just needs to be seen to be believed! This had the same wonderfully gritty feeling of those really violent matches you'd come across during the tape trading days that grew their own legend surrounding them.

While I've become a fan of Mad Dog Connelly, I have not seen a lot of Slade but from what I saw here, this guy is totally awesome! Both definitely have that legit dangerous & uncontrollable aura that I always love to see. Something approximating Super Dragon energy you might say!

I also loved the underground energy of this tiny, dingy box of a venue. This felt like an underground fight club in the best of ways!

Thank you once again to the great 'DEAN'/Segunda Caida team of Matt, Way of the Blade's Phil & everyone involved in making this show happen! So pumped for the return of the legendary Death Valley Driver Review Forum! That place was for sure a key of molding the eclectic Pro Wrestling tastes of this fan/wrestling obsessive.

If you are the bloodthirsty creep kinda fan that I sometimes find myself being, this comes HIGHLY recommended! This one made me feel things!
