Hi there folks! We’re up to week 11 of this little “Match of the Week” art series thing of mine & I have no intention of stopping anytime soon! This week I’ve picked a really fun match that’s been on my watch list for quite some time.
This one took place on May 29th, 2022 for Prestige Wrestling’s “Prestige Roseland 3 - Day 2” at the historic Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon.
Another total classic indy wrestling match that brought me back to that early 2000s golden era of it all. Featuring in my opinion, two of the very best professional wrestlers in the world with super interesting, varied styles & experiences going at it before an appreciative audience. This was just a bloody delight to watch! Just the best fusion of all the things! From Japanese wrestling to classic Lucha Libre 'Llave'-style that would make Skayde & Negro Navarro proud. I was officially won over from that first headstand head-scissors takeover (that the crowd was SUPER into) - so much so in fact that I felt there was no better moment of the match to illustrate.
A super fun match that reminds me just how great it is to see the proper craftsmanship of this art-form on display between two absolute masters of the craft.
