Hi pals! We’re up to the 37th edition of this little ol’ ‘Match of the Week’ illustration series & this week I’m back with a shockingly current bout for you!

This DELIGHTFUL match took place just this past Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 for CMLL at 'La Catedral De La Lucha Libre; the one & only Arena Mexico.

So I absolutely adored this match. Im far from impartial on this one as you might be aware that Panther & Hechicero are two of my very favourite luchadores. But for me, this whole thing is just about enjoyment & I enjoyed this SO MUCH!!

Lots of beautiful 'llaveo' mastery on display from two of the very best at it. This was just such a treat. In a lot of ways it felt like watching a Johnny Saint/Johnny Kidd or Solar vs Negro Navarro classic. Both guys were just absolutely perfect to me. Also a perfect use of the traditional lucha libre 2/3 falls. Mind blowing that Panther is 63 years old, 45 years into an all-time great career & still being able to have matches like this. Many moments just made me smile a big, goofy smile & really reminded me why I love Professional Wrestling so darned much!
