We’re back for the 34th instalment of our 'Match of the Week' illustration series & we’re back on board the good ship NOAH!

This match took place on February 4th, 2024 at Pro-Wrestling NOAH’s Cross Over 2024 in Sendai event at the lovely Sendai Sun Plaza for the GHC Heavyweight Championship.

Two of my absolute current favourites here in the form of KENOH & someone who has just improved so very much over the past few years in Hijo Del Wagner Jr. I think a big part of my enjoying this match so much was seeing how far Wagner has come since being a young dude wrestling in a t-shirt with the enormous weight of the Wagner dynasty on his shoulders, to really coming into his own. Becoming in my opinion, one of the very best 3rd generation Pro Wrestlers there is. After an amazing reign with the GHC National Championship, it was super cool to see Wagner finally make it to the top of the mountain.

This match also marks the end of a bloody great, super underrated reign by the 'Fist King'. Maybe a bit shorter than we would have liked, but from his excellent match against Jake Lee where he won the big green strap late last year, through every defence of the belt, everyone’s favourite hard-kicking loudmouth has had a fantastic run!

I found this to be a way interesting meshing of styles & also a really refreshing clash between two big time crowd favourites, who have a lot of respect for one another.

All in all, this match is just another reason why more folks should be watching NOAH!
